Russian Poker
The game uses standard Poker rules for ranking and comparing hands where the lowest one is Ace-King and the highest is a Royal Flush (please see part 10. “Winning combinations and pay-outs”)
Introduction:
- The object of the game is to excel the Dealer with the five-card Poker combination of your hand.
- Russian Poker is played with one deck of 52 cards without Jokers.
- Unlimited number of players can participate in the game and each player can choose different options during the game.
- The game uses standard Poker rules for ranking and comparing hands where the lowest one is Ace-King and the highest is a Royal Flush (please see part 10. “Winning combinations and pay-outs”).
- The Dealer needs to qualify with a hand of Ace-King or better; otherwise, your “Ante” wagers are paid at odds 1:1 and “Bet” wagers are pushed.
- If the Dealer qualifies, you are paid according to a fixed scale of pay-outs on your “Bet” wager if your hand is better than the Dealer's or you lose bets if your hand is worse than the Dealer's.
- There are different options for you to stake extra money: exchange cards, buy an extra card, insure against the Dealer failing to qualify or buy the Dealer’s qualification.
- The uniqueness of Russian Poker is the fact that if the Player has two Poker combinations on his hand, both of them can be paid according to the pay-out odds of those combinations.
How to Play:
1. A specific time will be given for the selection of each round.
2. To start, please select a chip from the chip tray and click on the “Ante” circle of the box(es) whenever you see the “Please place your bets” message on the progress bar.
3. Your bets can be placed, cleared or changed only during the betting time. No bets can be placed after the betting time is over and the Dealer has announced “No more bets”.
4. Your total bet amount will be displayed in "Current Bets".
5. The Dealer deals clockwise 5 cards in the player’s box and 5 cards in the Dealer’s hand in the following way:
6. Cards in the main box should be all face up.
7. In the Dealer’s hand, the first four cards are to be face down and the last card is face up (up-card).
8. After dealing the playing cards, the Players will be shown the virtually learned cards.
- If you have placed an “Ante” wager in a middle box, the “Please choose your option” message will appear on the progress bar and you will be offered to select one of the following options:
- The BET option is usually selected if at least some combination is already dealt in your hand. Your “Bet” wager will be placed after you have selected this option and will be exactly twice the amount of the “Ante” for that box.
- The 6th CARD option allows to buy additional card for the price of one “Ante”. ● EXCHANGE from 2 up to 5 cards in the middle box for the price of one “Ante” for each. Please select the cards you wish to change by clicking on them and then click on the Exchange button. The selected cards will be evidenced and their virtual equivalents will be turned face down. The discarded cards will be replaced with switch cards, which are dealt after the options time is finished (please read part 3. “Switch cards”).
- FOLD the box if you are not happy with your hand. Therefore, you lose your “Ante” and do not participate in the current round of the game any more in the main box.
9. Please note! If you do not select any option during Options Time, the FOLD option will be selected automatically
10. If your selected option is “6th CARD” or “EXCHANGE”, you will be offered the time to choose one of the final options after the switch cards are dealt:
- If you are happy with your new hand, you can continue playing and place a “Bet” by clicking on the BET option.
- If you select the INSURANCE option (please see part 4. Insurance), your “Bet” wager will be placed automatically.
- If you are not happy with your hand, you may select FOLD, therefore your original “Ante” and the payment for any option will be lost.
11. Please note! If, for some reason, you do not select any option even during the Final Options Time, the FOLD option will be selected automatically. 12. 10 After the final decision is made in the main box, the Dealer opens the cards too and the game proceeds in one of the following ways:
- your win is calculated and shown in the “Last Win” field.
- if the Dealer’s hand is not qualified, the additional time starts with the aim of buying the Dealer’s qualification (please see part 5. “Buying Dealer Qualification”).
Switch Cards:
1. As soon as the Options Time is finished, the Dealer deals 5 switch cards. 2. You will see your new hand on virtual cards under the box according to your choices and the cards dealt.
3. The quantity of the opened switch cards on your screen depends on how many cards you have selected to exchange: the 1st switch card will be used to replace one card; the 1st and 2nd switch cards will be used to replace two cards, and so on.
4. Only the first switch card will be opened if you have chosen to buy the 6th card.
5. After the switch cards are dealt, the Final Options Time starts.
Insurance:
1. If your hand is a Three-of-a-Kind with Ace and King, you may insure your hand against the Dealer failing to qualify.
2. You can insure for a varying amount: the minimum equals to the “Ante” and the maximum is half the expected payment at the rate of the current combination* (even the total for several combinations) but does not exceed the Maximum Table Pay-out (indicated in the “Table Limits” window).
3. The Winning Insurance bet is paid 1:1 if, after the showdown, the Dealer is "Not Qualified".
4. The Insurance is lost if the Dealer is qualified.
5. If the Dealer qualifies with a combination higher than you have insured, the Insurance wager is returned to your balance as a bonus, and your “Ante” and “Bet” are lost.
*For example, if you place an “Ante” of $10 and a “Bet” of $20 and you have a Flush, the potential pay-out is 5x20=$100 (Flush pays 5:1) and you can therefore buy any amount of insurance from 20$ up to $50.
Buying Dealer Qualification:
1. If the Dealer hand is not qualified, the additional time is offered to buy the Dealer qualification for a price of one “Ante”.
2. This option is available only for the qualified boxes.
3. If your combination in the main box was insured, you may also buy the Dealer qualification hoping that the Dealer gets some Poker combination. If so, you may win with your “Bet” wager on the odds depending on your combination!
4. If the Dealer is not qualified, in the boxes, where the Dealer qualification was not bought, the “Ante” wager wins at odds of 1:1 and the “Bet” wager is returned to your balance. Such boxes do not participate in the current game round any more.
5. After the time for buying the Dealer`s qualification is over, the Dealer places the highest card of his/her hand face down on the verified box next to it, draws a new card and places it on the vacant place. At this point, the game is finished with no other options.
Maximum Table Pay-out:
1. 1Max table pay-out means the maximum possible pay-out you can receive in one box in one game round.
Please note! In Russian Poker, the "Bet" bet has a maximum payout limit. For example, if the maximum payout on “bet” is set up as 100
but the potential win is more than 100, the maximum “insure” can be 50, which in the case of win will be paid 1:1 (in this case 100).
2. Total pay-out for two Poker combinations cannot exceed maximum table pay-out. 3. Max table pay-out does not contain Insurance pay-out.
Final Resul:
1. “Ante” wagers and any payments for options are lost for the box that has folded, and there are no further options for the folded box.
2. For the boxes where you have placed a “Bet” (Bet option), the result depends on whether the Dealer is qualified or not, and if so, whether your hand is better or worse than the Dealer's.
3. If the Dealer qualifies:
- The insurance wager is lost except cases described in point 4.5 of these game rules.
- Your box wins with a higher Poker combination or the same combination value as the Dealer hand but higher kickers: your “Ante” is pushed and the “Bet” is paid out according to the pay table.
- If you have two Poker combinations in your hand and at least one of them is higher than the one in the Dealer's hand, the win of your “Bet” wager is calculated according to the sum of pay-outs on both combinations even if a combination is lower than the one in the Dealer’s hand.
- Tie. Your combination and kickers equal to the Dealer combination and kickers (your “Ante” and “Bet” are returned to your balance.
- Higher Poker combination or same combination value but higher kickers in the Dealer hand – you lose all the money invested in the game round.
Examples:
- The Dealer has 7- 7- 7- 9 - 4, your hand is 5- 5- 5- A- A- K. You are paid for the Full House + Ace-King, even though the Ace-King hand is worse than Dealer's 777.
- The Dealer has 7- 7- 7- 9- 4,your hand is Q- Q- 8- 8- 5- 5. Your Two Pair + Two Pair loses to the Dealer's Three of a Kind even though Two Pair + Two Pair (4:1) has a higher pay-out than Three of a Kind (3:1).
- The Dealer has 9- 8- 7- 6- 5, your hand is 9- 8- 7- 6- 5- 4. This a Tie: your best 5-card hand is equal to the Dealer's best 5-card hand. The sixth card does not help you to win with two Straight combinations.
If the Dealer Hand is Not Qualified:
1. Without buying INSURANCE – you are paid your “Ante” 1:1 and “Bet” stake is returned.
2. If you buy INSURANCE the win with Insurance wager will be on the odds 1:1 (“Ante” and “Bet” wagers are returned to you).
3. If you select not to buy the Dealer qualification, you are paid your “Ante” 1:1 and the “Bet” is returned to your balance.
4. If the Dealer gets a qualified hand after buying the qualification, the new Dealer hand will be used to compare the boxes where you have bought a Dealer qualification. 5. If you have bought the Dealer qualification, but the Dealer hand is still not qualified, you lose your payment for buying a qualification and your “Ante” and “Bet” wagers are simply pushed.
Winning Combinations And Pay-Outs:
1. Russian Poker is based on classic Poker combinations with the lowest hand being an Ace-King and the highest being a Royal Flush.
2. Card suits have no seniority, i.e. they are all of the same level. 3.

ACE/KING | The lowest hand combination in Russian Poker game | 1:1 |
Double Winning Combinations:
1. If you have six cards in your hand, any set of five cards can be used to make a hand.
2. If you can make two “different” combinations from your five or six cards, both are paid in case at least one of them is higher than in the Dealer’s hand. 3. The term “different” means that there must be at least one card in each 2-card, 3-card, 4-card or 5-card combination, which is not used in the other combination.
4. Kickers are ignored for this purpose.
5. Two combinations are possible in a 5-card hand and more than two combinations in a single hand will not be paid.
6. Please Note! Double winning combinations are not considered in the Dealer’s hand.
